Lab 1: Responding to climate change stories

An interesting perspective I read about was how climate change affects mental health. Researchers found that the increase in temperature also caused an increase in mental health challenges. More than just our nature is being affected, people themselves are facings the consequences when it comes to climate change, and not enough people are realizing this.

Moving forward the fight against climate change is not only to preserve our land and save our wildlife, it’s to save ourselves. This is a topic that should be more talked about in media, as this could be a real eye opener for many people. Especially to people that are mental health activist but aren’t aware of the effect climate change is having on that.

When look at the straight facts of climate change, there’s a lot of impact on our daily lives. With July 2021 being the hottest month ever recorded, shows the way that climate change is raising the temperature in the atmosphere. That wasn’t even the only record that was broken in July 2021, the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was the highest it’s ever been in.

2021 alone is breaking records and records that are based around climate change. These facts stand out to me because it is surprising how much is rapidly changing in a year that I felt was the same as every other year. When thinking about climate change and how much it’s affecting everything and everyone makes me feel like we can be doing more as a community and a country.

Moving forward just working together and creating a set plan on how to tackle climate change can help improve our world, our nature, and our mental health. And maybe we will stop breaking some of those records.
